Despite the fact that Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is being divorced due to his own abhorrent actions,

he is determined to make Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) suffer for choosing to free herself of him in Emmerdale.

Laurel demanded a divorce after she discovered that Jai had attacked Amit (Amil Goutam), had been blackmailing Pollard (Chris Chittell),

and had conned Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) out of his inheritance.

Some might say that’s a fair reaction, but Jai is anything but fair.

Since Laurel dropped the D word, Jai has been determined to hit her where it hurts; withholding Archie from her,

making her work life miserable, and giving her grief for asking for what she’s owed.

He was disgusted when Laurel dared ask that they divide their assets, and his scheming brain immediately set to work.

Lauren isn’t daft herself though and decides to play Jai at his own game, and approaches Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) with a savvy idea – to buy Jai’s shares in the Hide.

The two pull off this little move and reveal all to an aghast Jai who is not in the slightest bit amused that his soon-to-be ex-wife has outsmarted him.

He has his fresh scheme ready and raring to go in response to her attempt at getting one over on him – in the mediation he tells Laurel that he has sold Holdgate and Tenants to pay off debts, meaning she gets nothing in this divorce.

It transpires that Jai isn’t entirely cold hearted as he shares doubts over this cruel move to Caleb Miligan (Will Ash), but he’s quickly reassured by his fellow entrepreneur that he owes Laurel nothing.

He’s bolstered by the idea that he’s in the right, but is Jai heading for a massive fall himself?
