He needed transport to get there and decided to borrow Pollard’s (Chris Chittell) car, which was in the garage for a service.

On the way, Aaron was flagged down by a man on the side of the road, who turned out to be John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).

John revealed that his van had broken down and needed to borrow Aaron’s phone to organise getting it fixed, because his device didn’t have any signal on it.

As they got chatting, Aaron and John realised they were due to meet each other at the hotel.

Aaron got out of the car and helped John fix the van. Moments later though, they ditched the idea of a hotel and slept together in the back of the camper.

Afterwards, as Aaron stepped away to go to the loo, he chatted about meeting up with John again, unaware he was actually getting into the driver’s seat and preparing to leave.

Aaron was left on his own in the layby feeling pretty foolish. John had dashed away with Aaron’s keys and wallet in the back, leaving him forced to ring Mack for help.

The next day, John was back in the village because his van broke again. By this point, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) had met John at his mum’s funeral and discovered they are siblings.

Because Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) garage was the nearest one to John, he had no choice but to make his way there.

When Vic and Pollard found John, Vic wasted no time in introducing John to Aaron and Mack, which provided some awkward reactions. Afterwards, Aaron confronted John about being royally played, but was put firmly in his place when John delivered a brutal punch to the stomach.

Since then, John has reluctantly accepted a job at Butlers to earn himself some cash while he waits for the van to get fixed… which is taking ages for some reason.

He has also clashed multiple times with Mack and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) but for Aaron, while he’s given the impression John is his new enemy, tonight’s episode suggested he had other feelings for the new face too.

In the pub, John was busy nailing Mack in a game of darts.

As Mack handed over his lost cash, John revealed he needed to leave because he had plans.

Vic then briefly mentioned the dating app John has on his phone. When this happened, Aaron appeared to look jealous.

John is the half sibling of Robert, Aaron’s ex. It’s a complicated situation, but will Aaron address his feelings for John?
