Drew and Nina wake up together in her bed. Drew has to meet Sasha and the caterers for the fundraiser planning this morning, but Nina suggests Sasha can handle it. 

He thinks skipping out on the meeting would be a bad idea, so she distracts him with kisses. 

They make love, and Drew notes that was an excellent way to start the day. 

He also points out that they went ten hours without saying something nasty to one another. He has to get going, but they plan to get together again soon.

Spinelli and Mac try to play frisbee with James in the park, but he is unhappy and does not pay attention. Felicia and Maxie give Mac a look, and he asks, “What did I do?”

Spinelli tries to talk to James alone, who says he’s bored. Spinelli asks what he wants to do, and James admits he wants to ride horses with Cody, but Grandpa Mac says no.

Meanwhile, Mac tells Felicia and Maxie the ranch he found for James to ride at is excellent, but Maxie says Cody isn’t there. Maxie tells Max that this wasn’t his call, telling James he couldn’t see Cody. Maxie thinks Cody’s been punished long enough and walks off when she sees Nina has arrived.

Felicia tells Mac that he’s messed up big, and she can’t help him out of this one. Mac states he doesn’t need Cody in his life. Felicia says, “Fine!” She points out this will take a toll on his relationship with James the longer this goes on. Mac claims he’s protecting James from seeing Cody isn’t the hero he thinks he is. Felicia believes that Cody could live up to James’ expectations. She says people can be better when someone expects them to be.

Maxie talks with Nina and can see something different about her, saying she’s almost glowing. She quickly asks, “Did you sleep with Drew again?” Nina admits she did, and Drew stayed over last night. Nina is confident that Drew will find her and that what they have together will be far more enjoyable than intruding on Willow’s marriage.

As everyone is conversing, James sneaks off. Mac eventually agrees to allow James to take riding lessons with Cody. Maxie thinks James will be pleased, and when she calls out to him, they realize he’s gone.

Outside the Quartermaine stables, Tracy catches Cody daydreaming about his kiss with Sasha. He asks if she wants him to prep her horse, but she wants to take him for a ride today.

They head into the stables, and Tracy plans on testing his mind with a game of backgammon. She teaches him how to play the game. She tells him how she played it with her boys when they were younger. She started playing it again when she was in the hospital dealing with a case of parasitic brain worms. It was while in the hospital she made a good friend in Finn. She admits she clicks with very few people as she did with Finn. Cody can sense she misses him, and she admits she does.

As they play and discuss Finn, Tracy worries Finn might not be too happy to see her when he gets out, given her part in sending him to rehab. Cody informs her that he’s had friends go through rehab, and they come out different people. He thinks Finn will forgive her and says underneath her cold shell, she’s really warm and fuzzy. Suddenly, Cody realizes he’s won, and Tracy is gobsmacked.

Back up at the mansion, Sasha thinks about Cody when she finds his hat on the terrace. Willow suggests she take it back to him, but she is supposed to meet with Drew and some caterers about planning a fundraiser.

They head into the kitchen, and Sasha doesn’t know where Drew is or what is keeping him. She asks Willow if she could call him, as she’s his favorite fundraiser. Willow admits she and Drew don’t see one another much at The New Institute, and soon she won’t be crossing paths with him at all.

Michael walks in and asks, “What does that mean?” Before Willow can say anything, Drew shows up. He apologizes for being late and tells Sasha they’ll have to reschedule with the caterers as he worked late last night. He apologizes for interrupting, but Michael says Willow was just telling them something about them and The New Institute. Willow tells Drew she’s going back to nursing, so she’s resigning.

Willow says she’s agonized over this, but she misses nursing. She also didn’t want to disappoint everyone at The Institute, and she’ll miss working with Nina. She also thanks Drew for his belief in her. Drew says she’ll always have his support, and he only wants her to do what makes her happy. Willow thanks him. She tells Michael she’ll get the beach stuff together and meet him back here.

Willow leaves, and Drew also departs to take a shower. Sasha tells Michael he’s a good husband rolling with Willow’s decision. Michael asks what choice he has.

Lois, Gio and Brook Lynn eat breakfast outside of the boathouse. Gio needs to get to work, but Brook Lynn insists he eats before his shift. Lois knows he loves his job, but come fall, he’ll be glad to leave it behind him as he’ll be busy playing concerts. Gio isn’t so sure there will be that many. He was hoping his gallery job would get him noticed, but who is going to attend a gallery owned by a murderer?

Lois and Brook Lynn think the show will go on and be a hit because artists will love to attach themselves to Ava’s notoriety. However, Lois thinks he’s too good to be playing for the upper class of Port Charles, calling them snobs who look down on people like them. Gio doesn’t care what people think of him, only a few opinions matter to him, like Sonny’s. They tell him that Sonny won’t think less of him for keeping his word to play at Ava’s show. Lois adds that Sonny is not his keeper. Gio doesn’t want to let Sonny down.

Willow insists this is the only way to make things better. She loves Michael and their family but can’t stop thinking about him. She knows it’s wrong, and she has to put as much distance between them before she does something else she regrets. She rushes out.

Back in the kitchen, Sasha and Michael talk about Willow’s decision. Michael says when you love someone, you want them to be happy over the course of whatever time you have together. Michael quickly apologizes. Sasha says she’s made peace with Brando’s death as much as she can. He tells her that she’s great and that there are no guarantees in life, which includes taking a chance on love.

Back in the park, everyone looks for James, and Maxie has an idea of where he might be. She takes off. Meanwhile, Michael calls Nina and says they need to talk about Willow. He explains that Willow is resigning from The Institute and going back to nursing, and he’ll let her explain why. Nina says, “Oh, I can guess why!”

Meanwhile, Felicia and Mac speak with Spinelli about what he and James were talking about earlier. Spinelli admits James was upset about not being able to see Cody.  Felicia slams Mac.

Natalia stops by Sonny’s to say goodbye as she’s going home to Puerto Rico. She fills him in on Blaze’s tour and Blaze and Kristina’s break-up. She guesses Kristina will fill him in more on that. She notes her daughter doesn’t want her on tour with her, so there is not much reason for her to stick around here. Sonny asks, “What if I give you one?”

Natalia doesn’t have much cash flow right now, but Sonny has an idea. He calls Brook Lynn, who is finishing breakfast with her mother. He asks her to come over as he has a proposition for her.

Lois and Brook Lynn arrive at Sonny’s. Lois says she was interested when Brook Lynn mentioned that he had a new business proposition, so she tagged along. Sonny says he was looking forward to investing in a record label for Brook Lynn and Blaze. Brook Lynn knows, and they had to shelve it when Blaze went on tour. Sonny explains the money he set aside is still available, so he would like to invest in Deception.

Sonny wants to be a silent partner, and his cash will help make the company solvent again. However, his condition is that they hire Natalia. He says Natalia will look after his investment, and she knows numbers, is a great negotiator, and will do what is best for Deception.

Brook Lynn suggests they meet with her grandmother to discuss this further Brook Lynn and Natalia leave, but Sonny asks Lois to stick around. She does, and he apologizes to her. He explains he recently found out his medication was not working, and he’s getting it back on track. Lois thanks him for telling her, and she saw he was off, and now she knows why. He asks if they are friends and square again. She replies, “Friends, always! Square, not so much.” She again asks where this money is coming from. He promises it is legit. She believes and loves him, but she doesn’t want her daughter’s business to be scrutinized by the feds because he’s trying to impress the latest woman in his life.

At the stables, Tracy claims Cody cheated or that he distracted her with all his questions. Sasha arrives with Cody’s hat, and Tracy steps out when she gets a call from Brook Lynn.

Sasha gives Cody the hat she found and says she also found her senses. She is tired of playing it safe and says they should do this. Cody asks, “Do what?” She pulls him into a kiss. As they really begin to go for it, Maxie barges in and is profusely sorry. She asks if either of them has seen James.

Brook Lynn and Natalia meet with Tracy at Deception to discuss an investment from a bank into the company and about Natalia coming on board. Tracy asks what Natalia’s role would be? Natalia was thinking of CFO. Tracy wants the name of the bank that is investing in them. Brook Lynn admits it’s The Bank of Sonny. Tracy states, “Over my dead body!”

Next on General Hospital, Lucy likes Brook Lynn and Natalia’s idea, and lets Tracy know. Tracy glares at her. James remains missing. Cody dives into the lake. Cates thinks he finally has Sonny where he wants him.
