Katie Holmes was seen in a chic fall outfit in New York City on Thursday.

The Rare Objects director had on a black sheer blouse that was unbuttoned to show off her chest.

She added khaki slacks that were a bit oversized with a brown leather Khaite purse over her shoulder.

The fashion icon also had on black flat strappy Miu Miu shoes with cute bows on top and tortoise-shell framed sunglasses.

A white-and-orange book bag was also over her shoulder as she looked at her cell phone.

This sighting comes just a day before her daughter Suri Cruise’s Labor Day Weekend break from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg.

The private college has Monday off from classes as it is a federal holiday.

The Monday on Labor Day weekend is Suri’s first day off from her new school. After that she has Thanksgiving week off from the university then a Christmas break.

The estranged child of Tom Cruise – who is paying the $65K a year tuition as part of his divorce settlement from Katie – has over 100 theater arts classes to choose from in the prestigious School Of Drama.

Some involve yoga, singing, dance and the Alexander Technique.

DailyMail.com has learned there is also a class called Stanley Kubrick And His Films where her father Tom’s sex-cult film Eyes Wide Shut with then-wife Nicole Kidman from 1999 will be examined.

The Kubrick class looks at many of the director’s films.

The course description is: ‘Stanley Kubrick and His Films Stanley Kubrick and His Films will explore the amazing diversity in this excellent film director’s output from 1967-1999.

‘The course will emphasize the psychological and moral issues raised in his films. And the course will focus on his camera techniques, his use of sound and music, and other remarkable innovative elements.

‘With each film, Kubrick seems to re-invent himself, expanding the dimensions of film art. Films that will be shown in class include: ‘Paths of Glory’ (1957), ‘Lolita’ (1962), ‘Dr. Strangelove’ (1964), ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ (1968), ‘A Clockwork Orange’ (1971), ‘Barry Lyndon’ (1976), ‘The Shining’ (1980), ‘Full Metal Jacket’ (1987) and ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ (1999).’

And there are already plays on the schedule that Suri will likely try out for as she was a part of her high school performances.

One has to do with Mary-Kate Olsen and another revolves around the passengers on the Titanic.
