Ruth Langsford has been spotted still wearing her wedding ring, despite her ex-husband, Eamonn Holmes, reportedly moving on with his new girlfriend.
The beloved TV stars announced their split back in May, ending their 14-year marriage.
Over the past year, Eamonn, 64, has reportedly grown close to 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander.
While Ruth has seemingly made it clear there is “no going back” on her marriage, she has steadfastly kept her diamond wedding ring on.
Ruth treated herself to a fresh new look at the salon, documenting the transformation on video for her social media followers.
As she recorded herself holding her phone in her left hand, her wedding ring was noticeably still on her finger
Ruth’s makeover, which included extensions and soft waves, drew positive reactions from fans, who were quick to comment on her youthful appearance.
“10 years younger instantly! Love it,” wrote one follower. Another added: “Stunning Ruth! You look radiant and younger!” A third fan praised her, saying: “Love it Ruth, you look fabulous.”
An insider claimed OK! Magazine that Ruth is purposefully keeping her wedding ring on out of respect for both Eamonn and their families, especially their 21-year-old son, Jack.
“Ruth has been trying her best to be respectful to Eamonn for the sake of both their families and especially Jack,” the source revealed. “She is still wearing her wedding ring and doesn’t feel right taking it off at the moment, and she wanted to be as respectful as possible and does not want to invite any more speculation about their situation.”
However, sources say Ruth was left “in tears” recently after Katie was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger. According to insiders, it was the renewed public attention on her marriage and split that upset Ruth more than the fact that Eamonn has moved on.
“Seeing Eamonn’s new woman wearing an engagement ring over the weekend really upset her, not because of Eamonn moving on, but because she finds it hard having their marriage and split back in the limelight again,” an insider told The Sun.
It has also been reported that Eamonn reached out to Ruth to offer reassurance after the photos of Katie wearing a ring surfaced. Despite being spotted with a sparkler while out running errands, Katie has denied that it is an engagement ring, insisting that she and Eamonn are not engaged.
A source told MailOnline: “There are other people in this and I know Eamonn had to message Ruth to say there was nothing in the engagement speculation. Katie just wants to get it over and done with but Eamonn is less keen because he doesn’t want to hurt Ruth’s feelings.”
Eamonn and Ruth began dating back in 1997 and went public with their relationship in 1999. The couple married in 2010 and share a son, Jack, born in 2002.
